The pre-TI season gets even busier: TNC Pro Team invited to NESO Galaxy

The $150,000 tournament takes place in China on June 14-18.

The busiest time of the year for the Dota 2 scene just got even more hectic, with another LAN just being recently announced. Organized by China’s National Electronic Sports Organization, Galaxy Battles 2017 will be the final LAN before the announcement of The International 7 direct invites. It also coincides with The Summit 7 in Los Angeles, and will no doubt be seen as another chance for teams to prove themselves before TI7.

It will take place on June 14-18 at the Shenzhen Bay Sports Stadium in China, and boasts a $150,000 prize pool. TNC Pro Team has been directly invited – no doubt due to our performance at the recently concluded StarLadder i-League Invitational #2, where we took home second-place after a nail-biting 5-game grand final series against Team Liquid.

Chinese powerhouses Newbee and Invictus Gaming have also been directly invited, and while iG is looking strong coming into TI7 and might have already secured their direct invite thanks to a semi-final finish at the Kiev Major, their fellows in Newbee still have much to prove on the international level after suffering some disappointing results recently.

There is one more direct invite to be announced for Galaxy Battles, and then these teams will be joined by the winners of the European, South East Asian, Chinese, and North American qualifiers.

Let’s strap ourselves in, the month of June is going to be full of exciting Dota 2 action.
